In fact I've already moved on to additional books in the series, but so far NE remains my favorite. But SK really knows what she is doing, so much so that I may be a convert. Who'd of thought?! I think that's why I've always avoided hot and steamy books, especially in audio: most are done soooo badly I just can't take it. I got my UF fix, an interesting story, great setting, really likeable characters, AND hot smut that was NOT cheesy not only that, but actually really well done.

Night Embrace turned out to be a great choice. Since a friend told me my book recommendations weren't sexy enough I thought I would dip my toe into the genre starting with Sherrilyn Kenyon since I've seen her books for years and always wondered about them. The gloves are off, and it's time for a rematch with Talon out to save everyone, including the artist who makes him insane.Īlthough I'm an urban fantasy aficionado, I guess I had been avoiding this type of PNR erotic fiction. Unfortunately for both of them, it's Mardi Gras, and New Orleans is teeming with a complex plot of ancient gods, including Camulus, who are now out to reconquer the world. A life he's happy with until he meets Sunshine - an offbeat artist who reminds him what it's like to really live. Two thousand years later in modern-day New Orleans, as part of the bargain he made, he's now an immortal protector who keeps mankind safe from the creatures who would prey on them. But when Talon's clan slaughters his young sister while he watches, powerless to stop them, he sells his soul for vengeance against them. In anger and outrage, Camulus cursed him - everyone Talon loved would die a horrible death in front of his eyes.

The second installment in Sherrilyn Kenyon's best-selling Dark-Hunter series, Night Embrace.Īs an ancient Celtic warrior, Talon made one giant mistake - he killed the son of the war god Camulus.
